$1 million deferred

The executive council of the Episcopal Church of the United States (ECUSA), at its meeting in October, postponed until the spring a decision on whether to send a $1 million US gift to the Anglican Church of Canada to enable financial rebuilding following the native residential schools crisis, according to ECUSA spokesman Jim Solheim. The gift was proposed at the spring meeting of the executive council by Cynthia Black, dean of the Cathedral of Christ the King in Kalamazoo , Mich.
