The Hamilton Spectator newspaper poked good-natured fun at Ralph Spence, bishop of Niagara, after it was announced recently that the well-known expert in vexillology (the history of flags) was appointed chaplain to the 1,000 workers at the 2008 international Lambeth Conference of bishops. In addition, Bishop Spence said, he will also be “helping out with disciplinary matters” during the conference.
