The Archbishop of Canterbury has appointed the members of a small working group that will “consider and consult” with provinces of the Anglican Communion on the controversial section of the proposed Anglican Covenant dealing with dispute resolution and the definition of which entities can sign on to the covenant.

May 12, 2009 ACC delegates end meeting ‘more hopeful’ for future, says Williams

While it “hasn’t necessarily dealt with the problems of the Anglican Communion once and for all,” the 14th Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) meeting has enabled members to “build solid relationships with the local church and with one another,” Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams said on May 12, the final day of the 12-day council meeting.

May 12, 2009 ACC seeks equal but ‘non-voting’ membership at primates’ meeting

The Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) on May 12 approved a resolution asking the primates of the Anglican Communion to include “an equal number” of non-primatial members of the joint standing committee as non-voting participants in the primates’ meeting.

May 11, 2009 Future shape of Anglican Communion uncertain, says Archbishop of Canterbury

The 14th Anglican Consultative Council has not “given evidence of any belief” that Anglicans worldwide “have no future together,” said the Archbishop of Canterbury, even as he warned that it would be “inevitable” that the Anglican Communion could turn into a “much more dispersed association” or federation if all member churches do not sign on to the proposed covenant.
