Canadian will serve Mothers’ Union
Anglican Communion News Service
Nov 1, 2004

Alice Kennedy of the Hampton, N.B., branch of Mothers' Union (MU) became the first person outside the United Kingdom to be elected to the worldwide MU committee on action and outreach. She will serve a three-year term.

The committee reviews programs and allocates funds donated to Mary Summer House, the Mothers' Union headquarters in London, for program funding and disaster relief.

"Mothers' Union was trying to reflect its worldwide connection, but I was still surprised to be elected," Ms. Kennedy told the New Brunswick Anglican.
