Roland Arthur Wood, bishop of Saskatoon between 1981 and 1992, died in September in a Saskatoon hospital. He was 69.

Bishop Wood?s death came two weeks after surgery revealed he was suffering from cancer of the pancreas.

He was ordained in 1958, and served in Winnipeg and Selkirk, Man. and Yorkton, Sask. and as dean of Saskatoon before being consecrated bishop of Saskatoon in 1981. He was dean of St. James Cathedral, Peace River, Alta. between 1992-1997. He had retired with his wife, Betty to Saskatoon.

His funeral was held Sept. 24 at the Cathedral Church of St. John in Saskatoon.
