Fair-trade coffee
Jul 3, 2007
Coffee and tea breaks during General Synod attempted to strike a blow for a more just world. “We purchased fair-trade tea and coffee and the hotel charged a fee to serve it,” said Beth Baskin, public engagement co-ordinator for the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund, the church’s relief and development arm. Fair trade-coffee “allows the producer to get a fair wage and profit out of it. I think it was well worth it. A fair trade product equals a just wage,” said Ms. Baskin.
