The diocese of Toronto reported that its annual Faithworks appeal raised $1,433,000 in 2005, the highest single-year amount in its history. “This is an incredible result and it reflects the generosity of Anglicans across the diocese and puts us in a good position to reach our goal in 2006,” said diocesan Bishop Colin Johnson. The annual appeal, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, supports organizations that help women and children, families in crisis, refugees, the imprisoned and people in the developing world.
