A first
Bishop Victoria Matthews of Edmonton, left, and Queen Elizabeth II greet well-wishers after a service on May 22 at St. Mary and St. George Anglican Church in Jasper, Alta. Behind them, Rev. David Prowse escorts Prince Philip. The queen's visit marked the 100th birthdays of Saskatchewan and Alberta. It was the first time the queen had attended a service led by a woman bishop.
