Rev. Maj. Eric Reynolds, senior chaplain at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) in Kingston, Ont., was recently invested into the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem (commonly known as the Knights Templar) at Toronto's St. James Cathedral.

An Anglican priest from the diocese of Montreal and a military chaplain since 1985, Mr. Reynolds was posted to RMC last summer after spending two years as the chief instructor of the Canadian Forces Chaplain School and Centre at CFB Borden.

The Knights Templar was founded in 1118 with a duty to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land. Today it is a secular military order of chivalry – a knighthood for accomplished Christian military and civilian men (knights) and women (dames) who have demonstrated high ethical and moral principles and who wish to carry on the ideals of the Order.
