A time to dance
Rina Singha performs an East Indian dance at a celebration of arts and spirituality on May 7 at Toronto's Church of the Redeemer. The event was sponsored by the Anglican Foundation's Sacred Arts Trust and featured fabric installations, dance and music. The festival also included an 80th-birthday tribute to Canon Graham Cotter (left). Founded in 1994 by Mr. Cotter, who is an Anglican priest, playwright and author, the Sacred Arts Trust supports artists who create expressions of spirituality in liturgical dance, sculpture, music, visual and textile arts, labyrinths and drama. The festival was the first such celebration by the trust. Managed by dancer Ronda Nychka, whose nine-year-old son, Adam, also performed, the celebration included dancer Alexandra Caverly-Lowery, mime artist Paul Hutt and soprano Hallie Fishel.
