Beating a different drum

Brenda MacIntyre, a member of the women's music group Spirit Wind, performed aboriginal chanting and drumming at a panel discussion in Toronto, Nov. 29, sponsored by Kairos, an ecumenical organization dedicated to social justice. Representatives of Canada's First Nations, Colombia, Sudan and the Palestinian people spoke of peace efforts by women. Beverly Jacobs of the Six Nations reserve in Ontario addressed the Sisters in Spirit campaign for the recognition of violence toward aboriginal women.
