The diocese of Fredericton is doing better than expected financially. Final budget figures for 2002 show a surplus of $76,000. Several factors contributed to the encouraging result - parish support, the bishop's appeal and a reduction in the cost of the diocesan benefit plans, said Canon Fred Scott, treasurer.
