Jim Arnold’s photo contribution to Picture Your Faith, a monthly feature on the Anglican Journal Web site, www.anglicanjournal.com, was awarded first place in the colour photo category at the Canadian Church Press (CCP) convention in May (please see related story).

The Journal had published, on the front page of its September 2007 issue, Mr. Arnold’s photograph of his friend, Tim Sandell, from St. Mark’s Anglican church in Saskatoon, in a prayerful pause aboard a canoe that was sailing east of Holy Trinity Anglican church, at Stanley Mission, Sask. The judge wrote about the photograph: “Good balance image with creative angle that makes it fun and pleasant to see.”

The photograph, which Mr. Arnold contributed for the theme “God and Nature,” also appears on the Journal Web site, www.anglicanjournal.com/picture-your-faith/

Since its launch in September, Picture Your Faith has received more than 100 submissions from Anglicans across Canada.

The goal of Picture Your Faith is to tell stories of faith through images; each month, the Journal will invite submissions based on a particular theme. The next theme is “Those who serve,” and the deadline for submissions is Wed., June 25.
