Hoskin

The bishop of Calgary, Derek Hoskin, has accepted the election by the senate of the University of Emmanuel College in Saskatoon and agreed to take the position of university chancellor for an initial period of three years.

For the past two years, Bishop Hoskin had served as a member of the College Council.
The chancellor is the chief officer of the university and presides over meetings of its senate.

Bishop Hoskin was elected bishop in 2006. A graduate of Wycliffe College, Toronto, he served in parishes in Lethbridge, Fort Macleod, and Brocket, Alta. Ordained in 1973, he received a licentiate in theology from Wycliffe in 1972; he also studied at Lincoln Theological College, England.
