February 1, 2010 Saskatoon’s Flying Bishop will ‘take off’ during retirement

Bishop Rodney Andrews, 69, plans to soar off into the wild blue yonder after he retires at the end of this month as the bishop of the diocese of Saskatoon. A licensed pilot, Bishop Andrews will fly with the ecumenical ministry, On Eagle’s Wings, which serves remote northern communities. He will also work as a part-time flight instructor.

January 28, 2010 Diocese of British Columbia releases restructuring plan

The diocese of British Columbia has announced a plan to close 13 churches in a dramatic restructuring. While the plan is a response to declining church attendance, Bishop James Cowan says it goes beyond cost-cutting, asking how the church can best focus its resources to carry out its mission as well as rebuild for the future.
