In the Holy Land, where Christians only account for only  1.5 per cent of the population, the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem tries to make its voice heard through its health, education and peace ministries, explains Sawsan Aranki Batato, the diocese’s head of development. “The Holy Land is where Jesus was born. It’s important,” she says. “We’re following in the footsteps of Jesus in healing and educating people.”
