Former PWRDF chair is appointed to UN agency

Steven Toope, a former chair of the Primate?s World Relief and Development Fund, has been appointed to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances.

Foreign Affairs Minister Bill Graham welcomed the appointment, saying it underscored Mr. Toope?s expertise in the field of human rights.

Mr. Toope is a professor of law at McGill University in Montreal and a former dean.
