CoGS in brief

In other news, the Council of General Synod (CoGS):

• listened to a report about the work of the Youth Initiatives Task Force and passed a resolution stating that the group, to be renamed the Youth Initiatives Working Group, be established to continue through 2009, “subject to funding availability.”

• was informed by the Vision 2019 Planning Task Force that it will use new technology to urge Anglican churches to share their vision for involvement in God’s mission in 2019.

• was asked by Judy Kochendorfer, representative of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC), to consider making her a full voting member of CoGS, in the same way that Bishop Colin Johnson of Toronto is a full voting member at ELCIC’s National Church Council.
